I had an extremely disappointing experience at this salon in Merrick. There were two stylists working: one with blonde hair and one with black hair. The blonde-haired stylist was professional, pleasant, and applied my root touch-up color. Unfortunately, the experience changed completely when the other stylist took over to wash and blow-dry my hair. The stylist who washed and blow-dried my hair was very rough and caused me real pain. She used ice-cold water while washing my hair, dug aggressively into my scalp, and ignored me when I said “ouch” several times. My scalp still hurts after the appointment. The blow-dry was also painful. I was burned multiple times with the dryer and the final result was nothing like what I requested. I asked for a voluminous blowout, but my hair came out flat with no body or style. I paid $125 for a root touch-up and blowout, and it was honestly the worst blowout experience I have ever had. I grew up going to many Dominican hair salons in Brooklyn and have had countless blowouts, but I have never experienced this level of roughness, discomfort, or lack of care. I also felt that the stylist was more focused on doing her own hair than on providing proper customer service. I do not recommend this salon based on my experience. Customers deserve to be treated carefully, listened to when they say they are in pain, and to leave with the service they paid for. I hope the owner takes this feedback seriously and addresses how clients are being handled.

I recently moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a go-to spot for weekly wash and blowouts. Unfortunately, I will never be returning to this establishment due to the owner’s incredibly deceitful business practices. My experience involved a bait-and-switch on pricing that changed three times in 24 hours: 1. The Quote: I visited two days ago, showed a photo of the color I wanted, and was quoted $250 by an English-speaking staff member. 2. The Increase: I returned the next morning to start the service. I showed the exact same photo and simply specified I wanted a brown base. The price was immediately jumped to $300. Though frustrated by the inconsistency, I agreed. 3. The Final Ambush: After my hair was finished, I was told the owner had been watching me on the security camera and decided to increase the price again to $400. The employees actually tried to call the owner to explain how dishonest this looked to a customer, but the owner reportedly did not care. I paid the full amount only because I didn't want to penalize the stylists for their manager's lack of ethics, but I am appalled by this behavior. If you value transparency and don't want to be watched on camera for the sake of price-gouging, take your business elsewhere. They lost a potential long-term client today.
